A walk out to Pencarrow Head on a fine February day. What more could you ask from a pleasant morning's walk? Possibly snowdrops. We had heard that they were good near Pencarrow, but not it seems this particular Pencarrow. If you want snowdrops at Pencarrow, then you want Pencarrow House! However, the little flowers were not the only reason we chose Pencarrow Head, but the beautiful scenery, and a simple desire just to see the sea. We were not disappointed.
As with Pencarrow House, the name "Pencarrow" comes from "Pen - penn" as in head, end or top (of a valley, headland etc) and "carow" as in stag, or in this case, Stag Head, or its possible resemblance to horns.
